Style:  Eclectic / Gothic Revival

Designers:  Ingg. Fulgenzio Setti, Dino de Gioannis

This is the first academic building devised with new architectural standards, already in Northern Europe, to improve school children’s needs. With its U plan and a wide inner courtyard, it had well-lit classrooms on each side and a gym. For the first time this type of building had a vertical development on two floors in contrast to the traditional horizontal one. The halls, characterized by portals, frames and little hanging arches in local limestone, stand out against the red brick outer covering.
